Single solar cells cannot be used directly as a power source. As a power source, a number of single cells must be connected in series, connected in parallel and tightly sealed into components.
Solar cell components (also called the solar array) are the core most important part of the solar power system. Its function is to convert solar energy into electric energy, send it to storage battery, or push the load to work. The materials of the solar array are as follows:
1. The glass of the solar array
Ultra-white cloth-patterned tempered glass with a thickness of 3.2mm. The light transmittance is over 91% in the wavelength range of the solar cell’s spectral response. It is resistant to ultraviolet radiation and does not drop in light transmittance. The solar array made of tempered glass can withstand the impact of a hockey puck with a diameter of 25 mm at a speed of 23 meters per second.
2. The EVA of the solar array
The high-quality EVA film with a thickness of 0.5mm is used as a sealant for solar panels and a connecting agent with glass and TPT. It has high light transmittance and anti-aging ability. Performance requirements of EVA film used for solar cell encapsulation after curing: light transmittance greater than 90%; cross-linking greater than 65-85%; peel strength, glass, film greater than 30; TPT/film greater than 15; temperature resistance , High temperature 85℃, low temperature -40℃.
3. The TPT backplane of the solar array
The back of the solar panel has basic requirements such as aging resistance, corrosion resistance, ultraviolet radiation resistance, and airtightness.
4. The frames of the solar array
The adopted frame has high strength and strong resistance to mechanical shock.
